Planted Seeds is a resource blog to help families acquire an awareness of the work God is doing around the world in missions, through prayer, education,and experience. A different nation is presented each month alongside materials to bring it to life in the lives of children.

 

It is my hope that seeds will be planted in the hearts of my own children to support missions through prayer and giving.  That we would recognize the mission each of us is surrounded with every day in serving God through the ordinary callings of the mundane, and that through our prayers, seeds will be also be planted in the hearts of the lost all over the world.

I first had the idea for Planted Seeds before my first child was born in 2011. I wanted to make her aware of a world bigger than herself. After she was born I got caught up in the day to day that makes up life and forgot about my plans to do missions studies with my littles. Oh, I thought about it here and there, wishing half-heartedly that someone would come up with the materials and post them for my use.

As with so many things, if you are wishing for something that does not exist, that's usually God calling YOU to create it. The beginning of 2019 God began prompting me to begin choosing a missions focus each month for my own family. I wondered if there were other families who might appreciate such a resource, and Planted Seeds was born.
